About Program –
Women empowerment and Livelihood promotion is the core focus area of NABARD; to meet this objective NABARD started SHPI – Self Help Promoting Institute program. SHPI program implemented through NGO partners. In this program NGO partners has to form women SHGs (Self Help Groups) and to provide SHG Concept trainings &skill development trainings for betterment of their livelihood activity. SHPI has to link these SHGs with Banks / Funder for credit support to start any livelihood activity.

Target Area – Indore, Dewas, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani and Sehore
Community – Sub-urban and Rural (women)
Program / activities under the program –
Following major activities done by Aparajita Mahila Sangh –
- Village meeting
- SHG formation
- Record Keeping of SHG
- Trainings to SHGs on Book Keeping, SHG Concepts, Leadership & livelihood.
- Bank account opening of SHG and SHG members.
- Registration of SHG and SHG members under various Govt. Schemes.
- Credit linkages with Banks
- Regular support and monitoring of SHG for regular repayment of loans to funder.
Outcome / Results –
Aparajita Mahila Sangh has been working as SHPI since year 2008. As of now Aparajita has implemented SHPI program of NABARD in Indore Dewas, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani and Sehore districts with a total SHG formation of 2000+ women SHGs and few programs are going on.
