Aparajita Mahila Sangh is a non-profit making, secular, Non–Government, Voluntary organization based at Indore (Madhya Pradesh, India) working for upliftment and empowerment of the community. Our aim is to work towards creating ahuman and congenial society. We share the firm belief that the role of women, their mental make up and social-economic status is the basic for shaping our future society.Thus there is dire necessity for social and economic upliftment of women. We believe in effective social networking of available and requisite resources, through integratedplanning and community participation. Aparajita aims at an all-inclusive human development. Department of International Development (DFID), UK had initiated a programnamed as “Financial Services for Poor” for women residing in slum areas of Indore city in year 1997 implemented by FWWB, India; under this project Self Help Groups (SHG)formed and capacity building trainings provided for Group activities. As a final step of the program, selected formed SHGs converted in to SHGFederations named as Aparajita Mahila Sangh (AMS) which was the first women led urban federation of Madhya Pradesh registered under the Madhya Pradesh Society act– 1973 with registration number IND/5873/2002 dated 12th-Feb, 2002.
